Acting on behalf of an overseas client Aldourie Castle was acquired for the purposes of developing an eco-friendly retreat. The original planning and listed building permissions provided for the conversion of the castle - the only habitable castle on Scotland's  famous Loch Ness - into apartments, together with conversion and development for some 80,000sq ft of additional of new-build, collegiate style accommodation centred on the old steddings. Other parts of the 400 acres surrounding the castle were also subject to  applications for additional new-build accommodation. The project included restoration of the former gardens, the re-opening of the old estate drive and eco-lodge development in the adjoining woodland.
